At the beginning of April, I had the pleasure of meeting Kayla. She is a local high school senior that will be graduating this May. We met at the beautiful Maclay Gardens, in Tallahassee, Florida. One of the many reasons I love Maclay is all the options for unique backgrounds. There are several gardens with beautiful flowers and long brick walkways that make any portrait instantly more gorgeous. But, during Kayla’s session, we walked through the gardens and explored some areas I haven’t before, and I’m so glad we did.
I love exploring an area from a different perspective. I have done countless sessions at Maclay Gardens, but I wanted to take a different approach and look closely at the details of the gardens and not just the big picture (although the large picture is just as pretty). Doing that resulted in some amazing shots that look so different from past sessions I’ve done at Maclay Gardens. Take a look…
Kayla had an outfit change and we were all the way at the back of the gardens where a restroom was not convenient, at least not to my knowledge. But we found one! It was behind the cottage. While Kayla was changing, I spotted a wood siding building, it was gorgeous! Kayla came out in a green dress, perfect for the slightly white-washed wood siding on this building. I could not adore these images any more.
She was simply flawless, every picture felt like it popped right off a page in a magazine.
Congratulations Kayla, on this next phase of your life!
