WOW, that was a blast! This past Sunday, RDP participated in our very first wedding show. The 2017 Tallahassee Wedding Tour was amazing!! If you missed out, let me share with you how amazing this event was for brides and grooms in our area, and the gorgeous venue we had the pleasure of setting up at.
The tour was designed to be a new and unique approach to the traditional wedding shows. The brides and their guests were chauffeured around town touring different wedding venues. Each venue was stocked with wedding venders who offer services to make that BIG day extra special. There were catering companies, florists, photographers, videographers, and even teeth whitening services, amazing!
We had the pleasure of being assigned to the beautiful Loblolly Rise barn just off Thomasville Road, north of Tallahassee, Florida. As soon as you cross the Georgia line, Loblolly Rise is on your left in Thomasville, Georgia. Check out their website to see more beautiful pictures of this gorgeous barn venue! It is a beautiful plantation located between Tallahassee, Florida and Thomasville, Georgia, which is also rich with history! It was an honor to meet one of the owners, Whitney Fletcher. She was such a sweetheart, very down to earth, and truly amazing to work with. I have no doubt in my mind that any couple who selects Loblolly Rise as their wedding venue will be more than satisfied!
We arrived bright and early to set up and explore the property. One, of the many, reasons why I love photography is getting to explore areas around Tallahassee that I may not have otherwise, or have driven past numerous times without a reason to stop and look around. That was definitely the case with Loblolly Rise as I pass it every single time I travel to Thomasville to see family, yet never have had the pleasure of stopping.
Inside the HUGE barn, we were welcomed with adorable farmhouse tables. We selected two and arranged it in an "L" shape against the wood wall decorated in romantic white lights. Our thoughts for the booth were to remain simple, yet elegant, and true to our style. Thankfully we were assigned to a rustic barn that could not have complimented our style of photography anymore!
Because we were limited with space, we opted to display two printed images with our wedding portfolio on the tablet as a slide show. We arranged pricing sheets and business cards for the couples to take with them. I knew they were going to meet with several venders through the day and we were the first stop on the tour. Allowing them to take our information with them gave them the peace of mind to enjoy the tour and review their materials later in the comfort of their home.
We truly enjoyed ourselves and meeting so many glowing brides to be. That newly shinning engagement ring on a girls finger sure does shine through her eyes! The excitement is uncontainable as she describes the day she has dreamed about since she was a little girl. Being able to chat with these ladies about their special day is such an honor and we are thankful to have been apart of this fantastic wedding tour.
As much as I loved the grounds and barn at Loblolly Rise, I think my heart was won by this adorable bridal cottage! The wood was reclaimed from an old barn out of Monticello, Florida, and the owners completed the inside themselves. Talk about an accomplishment! It was stunning, I believe I could live right there in that little cottage!
We held a drawing for a lucky couple to win a complimentary session. I had my kiddos do the honor of drawing the winner.
CONGRATULATIONS, KAREN THOMAS!
